Sarah de Lange presenta su investigación con comentarios por Reinhard Heinisch, Valentina Quiroga y Beatriz Sánchez
La Facultad de Ciencias Sociales e Historia de la Universidad Diego Portales (UDP) junto con la Fundación Friedrich Ebert y el Centro de Estudios de Conflicto y Cohesión Social (COES), organizan la Charla ¿Crisis de la socialdemocracia?.
En la ocasión presentará Sarah de Lange (Universidad de Amsterdam), con los comentarios de Reinhard Heinisch (Universidad de Salzburg), Valentina Quiroga (Fundación Horizonte Ciudadano) y Beatriz Sánchez (Frente Amplio y Saberes Colectivos). Modera Cristóbal Rovira Kaltwasser, profesor titular de la Escuela de Ciencia Política de la UDP.
Los partidos de derecha radical populista han venido creciendo desde los años 1980 en la mayoría de los países de Europa Occidental. Muchos estudios afirman que su éxito electoral es a expensas del apoyo a los partidos socialdemócratas. Como resultado, los partidos socialdemócratas enfrentan complejos desafíos estratégicos, programáticos y electorales debido al auge de los partidos de derecha radical populista. Esta presentación problematiza este supuesto y demuestra que pese a la alta correlación entre las ganancias y las pérdidas de los partidos de derecha radical populista y los partidos socialdemócratas, se pueden observar complejos patrones de votantes que cambian de partido. Interesa argumentar que la precariedad estratégica de la socialdemocracia se origina a partir de la transformación del espacio político en general y no necesariamente debido al surgimiento de la derecha radical populista en particular.
